A passenger has died after jumping off a Royal Caribbean cruise ship, just 300 miles from port.

As per The New Post, the fatal incident took place soon after the cruiser left Florida for Honduras on Sunday morning (26 May).
The ship – which holds up to 7,600 passengers and 2,350 crew members – halted travel just 300 miles from Port Miami, according to CruiseHive.
During this time, it’s said that crew members helped the Coast Guard to embark and complete a search and rescue mission.
The unnamed man was just hours into his week-long voyage on the Icon of the Seas when he was located by a rescue boat.
Reports claim that the man was rescued from the sea and brought back on board in a critical condition.
However, he succumbed to his injuries and was later pronounced dead.
Opening up about the incident, the Coast Guard said: “The cruise ship deployed one of their rescue boats, located the man and brought him back aboard.
“He was pronounced deceased. Beyond assisting in the search, the US Coast Guard did not have much involvement in this incident.”

The Icon of the Seas is the world’s largest cruise ship and took its maiden voyage on 27 January.
The company claims that the boat has the tallest waterfall, water slide and largest waterpark of any cruise ship.
On the boat, travellers can relax in a suspended infinity pool or hit up the ice skating rink and entertainment venue.
There is also an Aquadome on board which has been built specifically for diving.
A Royal Caribbean customer previously revealed a ‘bizarre’ health issue he’d experienced after living on a cruise ship for 23 years.
Mario Salcedo, a traveller hailing from Cuba, has been seeing the world onboard a boat for two decades straight.
In an interview with Condé Nast Traveller, he revealed he’d been on around 900 individual cruises just with Royal Caribbean.
Mario also explained how his luxurious lifestyle landed him with a pretty odd side effect.
“I’ve lost my land legs, so when I’m swaying so much I can’t walk in a straight line,” he admitted.
“I’m so used to being on ships that it feels more comfortable to me than being on land.”
